Before exporting a report

Use this page after the report is safe as a [Public report](/docs/reports/public-reports). PDF and print exports create static copies, so they should reflect the current gated public report state rather than old private draft content. Exported files are easier to forward than tokenized links. Review the output before sending it outside the account, especially when evidence, branding, legal boundary wording or report status changed recently.

Export PDF or print view

Follow the path `Reports → Public report → Print view or Export PDF → Review output → Share`.

  1. Open /reports/{report} and confirm Publication gates passed and Public report is available. Result: print and PDF actions are shown only for the current shareable report.
  2. Open the Public report before exporting. Result: you see the same customer-safe version that external readers will see.
  3. Click Print view for browser print or Export PDF for a product-generated PDF. Result: static output starts from the current public report state.
  4. Review report title, score, findings, evidence boundaries, dates, branding and legal wording in the export. Result: the static copy matches the current public report and does not add private artifacts.
  5. If output is stale or missing content, return to the private report and refresh gates or public report state first. Result: recipients do not receive outdated evidence.
  6. Share exported files only with the intended audience. Result: PDF and print handoff follows the same privacy and legal boundary as the public link.

Export states

Use the export state before sending a file.

  • Print view available means the tokenized public report can render a browser print surface for the current report state.
  • PDF export available means the product can provide a static PDF generated from the public report surface.
  • Export queued or generating means wait for the export to finish before sharing.
  • Static copy reviewed means the exported file was opened and checked after generation.
  • Public link preferred means send the tokenized report instead when the recipient needs the latest state or future updates.

Blocked or unavailable export states

Do not send static exports when the report is blocked, stale or unsafe.

  • Publication blocked means return to [Publication gates](/docs/reports/publication-gates) before using print or PDF actions.
  • Public report unavailable means use [Public reports](/docs/reports/public-reports) to confirm public state and tokenized access.
  • Sensitive evidence means use [Privacy redaction](/docs/projects/privacy-redaction) before exporting.
  • Legal boundary missing means use [Legal boundary wording](/docs/reports/legal-boundary-wording) before sending the file.
  • Browser print issue means reload the public report after the page finishes rendering, then retry Print view.
