Before you switch

Account switching changes the active workspace for projects, billing, reports, teams and agency client views. Use this page when you have more than one owned account, team account or agency client workspace and need to confirm where the next action will happen. Switching does not copy projects, subscriptions, reports or team permissions between accounts. It only changes the current context used by the next page you open.

Choose the active account

Follow the path `Accounts → Current account selector → Account detail → Client workspace`.

  1. Open /accounts. Result: the Accounts page shows each account card with account type, your role, billing email, project counts and links to Open, Projects and Billing.
  2. Read the sidebar Current account value before opening projects, reports or billing. Result: you know which account the app will use for the next customer action.
  3. Open the Current account selector and choose the account that owns the work. Result: WebRiskOps stores that account as the active context and redirects to its account detail page.
  4. If you are already on /accounts, click Open on the target account card. Result: the account detail page confirms the selected role, team state, invitations and notification settings.
  5. For agency client work, use Client workspaces or /agency before changing projects or report sharing. Result: client work stays separated from agency billing and owner account state.
  6. If the needed account is missing, ask an owner or admin to invite you before creating duplicate projects. Result: access is added through the team invitation flow instead of a second customer account.

Verify the new context

After the switch succeeds, confirm the account name in the sidebar, the role badge on the account detail page and the project or billing list you intended to open. If projects or reports are missing, stop and switch back before creating replacements.

Continue to client account work

After the correct agency account is active, continue to [Manage client accounts](/docs/accounts/manage-client-accounts) before adding or changing client projects. If a teammate cannot see the account, return to [Invite team members](/docs/accounts/invite-team-members) so access is granted through the correct account.

Availability boundaries

Users can only switch into accounts where they have accepted membership or client workspace access.

  • Missing membership means the account will not appear in the switcher until an owner or admin invitation is accepted.
  • Client workspace access lets you work on assigned client projects but does not grant agency billing ownership.
  • Wrong active account means projects, reports or billing entries may look missing even though they exist in another account.
  • Viewer role means you may switch into the account for review, but write actions stay unavailable.
  • Duplicate project risk means you should switch to the owning account before creating a new project for the same domain.
